Lots of juicy Pokemon TCG info revealed, including Next Destinies set info!
NOTE:- Please remember that some of this information is NOT 100% reliable!
THIS SET HAS BEEN CONFIRMED AS A LEGAL ONE BY POKEMON.
CONFIRMED RELEASE DATE:- 8th February 2012
Hellooo Pokemon lovers! I have yet another amazing blog entry with a little info about some other stuff (you'll get what I mean about this later on! xD), but the main thing this entry's about is the most talked about upcoming set, Next Destinies!!
So it's the 3rd set in the Black & White era (excluding the base set), and it seems like an awesome one! The main thing that everyone's talking about, the main gossip, the main reason for excitement, is the return of EXs!!! It's bound to put a huge, awesome spin on the current legal format, so there's bound to be some new, awesome decks as well! They've also shown that this is the return of EXs by emphasizing the 'X' in 'Next'. This set is also the equilvalent to Japan's Psycho Drive/Hail Blizzard, and if you're a PokéTuber like myself, you'll have noticed quite a few of these booster boxes being opening so we all ready have a small idea of how great the EX card art is!
A whole lot of stuff has been revealed by multiple sources (see end of post for links), including pack art and EX card art. We're seeing these spread about in separate articles, as new stuff's being revealed day by day, but we have quite a lot of information not to put in one huge bulging entry!
So onto he packs first of all, and these pack arts are legit, as they are listed on the official Pokemon site. The official release date has also been confirmed to be 8th February 2012, so I'd expect the pre releases to be mid-late January. Anywho, here are the pack arts!
(From right - left) We have a Mewtwo pack, Regigigas, Reshiram and Zekrom. Reshiram and Zekrom seem to have been made to seem alot more powerful in this set, and I Mewtwo seems to be the main Pokémon of this set. Also, note how we have Regigigas and Mewtwo in this set - to name a few - who aren't from the Unova region. So not only do we have the return of EXs, but we also have the return of some beloved, older Pokémon! So these pack arts look pretty awesme to say the least!!
Now, onto the promotional packs, and at the moment we only have the two theme decks a mini blister - well, I say only, I mean, we're lucky to have them, thanks to Banter toys and PokeCollection! The theme decks, again, make Reshiram and Zekrom look really powerful with this awesome art work, as they are the main Pokémon on these theme decks. Also, the mini blister contains 2 packs and 2 cards- Beartic and Cubchoo.
Now, drum roll please, as we go onto... THE EX CARDS!!! :D I'm not sure if I'm missing one, as on an advertisement image for Next Destinies it says 6 EX cards, but I could only find 5, 1 of which, Regigigas, has not yet be translated to English.
They look pretty awesome right!?! :D If I'm honest, I can't pick a favourite... they all look awesome!! I also have a review for each of these cards, or will have, so go check them out!
Now, just a small thing aside from Next Destinies - there's also been a revelation of yet another Black & White set! However it is only a mini one, but it brings yet another huge change in Pokemon TCG that will go down in PTCG history! That set is Dragon Selection, which will bring Dragon type Pokemon into the TCG!
As you can see from the above images (from Pokebeach.com) the Dragon type symbol has been revealed, along with the Japanese booster box. There are all sorts of Pokémon, and just like the upcoming Next Destinies set, they're not only from the 5th generation! According to Bulbapedia, the release date for this set is 27th January, which is just over a week before Next Destinies.
So, that's it for this huge post bursting with the latest, most exciting Pokemon Trading Card Game news!! I hope you found this interesting, and I should have a video about this on YouTube shortly if you'd rather watch/listen that read. :P
Thanks a bunch for reading!
